What is "United Global Citizens (UGC)" ?
United Global Citizens represents a worldwide network with the aim of mutual help and cooperation by citizens, peoples, NGOs and already existing networks all over the world, beyond the interests of each nation. The name, United Global Citizens is tentative to promote this concept.

Objectives:
The objective of "United Global Citizens" is to create a sustainable society in harmony with environment and to realize world peace.

Basic Concept:
When all living creatures on earth realize a danger on their lives, they will certainly take an action to avoid it. So do human beings. However, in this present society, people do not take such an action, because they are not well informed about the reality around them.

If people can recognize the current state of the world as well as its unavoidable result, and to understand what needs to be done to reverse the situation, then they will take an action against this foreseeable threat.

This would lead people to cooperate with each other quickly, which is a key to solving any problems. A network on a global scale that enables people to recognize important facts and to promote collective actions is strongly needed.

"Partnership and Implementation":
Through this global information network, citizens, peoples, NGOs and already existing networks will work together to solve environmental degradation, starvation, poverty and other social problems, and to take such actions as expressing collective opinions and promoting not-purchasing campaigns against those responsible for acts of terrorism, war, nuclear weapons, etc.

KEYWORDS:
Global scale network, billions of people, fair, neutral, diverse, partnership, enhancement, complements existing systems, self-reliant, independent, voluntary, self-responsibility, non-violence, non-confrontational, politically neutral, free will and free choice to do or not to do.

This is a summary of our proposal of "United Global Citizens" concept that we have placed forth and submitted at various conferences and preliminary WSSD processes of Johannesburg Summit and beyond.
